The Lady Taverners indoor schools and outdoor clubs girls’ cricket competitions provide opportunities for girls to get into cricket. These opportunities to play were provided at both informal and competitive levels with a progression pathway to local clubs and development programmes.
Almost half of the current England women’s squad have developed through the competitions, including Heather Knight, Anya Shrubsole and Sarah Taylor.
Lady Taverners U13 and U15 girls school indoor competitions
The Lady Taverners Indoor Competition exists to provide girls in Secondary School education with an opportunity to compete in a National Indoor Cricket Competition and create regular participation through an exciting, fun, fast format of the game. The Competition is open to all Secondary and independent Schools throughout England and Wales in the U13 and U15 age groups.
Competing schools will first take part in the Worcestershire group stages of the competition. The top two teams from each group will be invited to the County finals in March. The County winner progresses onto regional finals in April where they will play against other County champions. If successful, the regional winner will progress to national finals, to be held at Lords.
At present, we are awaiting guidance on inter-school competitions for 2020/21. We will update as soon as we have more information.
