Our aim is to “use the power of cricket to inspire a generation of kids and schools to choose cricket” and your involvement with our schools programme with allow us to reach our goals!
Over the last few years, we have seen a steady increase of school children taking part in cricket activities around the county including All Stars Cricket, school competitions and summer camps!
Worcestershire Cricket Foundation are proud of their accomplishments in delivering schools coaching over the last few years. This delivery and partnerships with schools and clubs has meant many more children being able to enjoy cricket both within a school and club environment through our partnerships many different partners including the Chance to Shine Foundation.
All packages and sessions that Worcestershire Cricket Foundation offer link in to all requirements for the National Curriculum. We are able to provide schools with all relevant sessions plans and the packages that we offer meet criteria for Pupil Premium;
All children and young people take part in at least 60 minutes of physical activity every day.
Through our cricket programme, we can offer a minimum of two classes at your school 60 minutes of physical activity each week for a half term.
Children and young people have the opportunity to realise developmental, character-building experiences through sport, competition and active pursuits.
Our cricket programme looks to develop childrens physical, mental and social skills through healthy competition and success in challenges. Further to this, leadership skills, teamwork and team building skills are also developed through our programmes differentiated nature. Everyone in our sessions has the chance to do develop their own skills at their own pace.
All sport and physical activity provision for children and young people is designed around the principles of physical literacy, focuses on fun and enjoyment and aims to reach the least active.
Our schools programme is designed to allow children to develop at their own pace and to their own abilities through personal best challenges. Our coaches look to make sure that even the least active people in the groups are involved within sessions and achieve success, thus increasing their likelihood of gaining more knowledge, confidence and overall enjoyment of cricket and sport.
