Worcestershire Cricket Foundation were recently awarded National Lottery funding from Sport England’s Together Fund which aims to tackle inequalities in activity levels, through working with its partners to reach those most in need as a result of the impact of COVID-19 and the cost of living crisis.
The funding award will allow Worcestershire Cricket Foundation to deliver 102 hours of seated cricket across ten different settings, including care homes, community centres and Headway Worcestershire sites.
The project aims to increase participant's physical activity which will, in turn, improve participant's physical health, hand-eye coordination, dexterity, and body strength. Participants will develop their cognitive health through counting scores, remembering scoring zones and learning the rules of the game, which will also aid cognitive recall.
